Summary of solo cribbage

If you happen to find yourself in your own company at home or in the pub, why not test your cribbage skills with solo, or solitaire cribbage.

Scoring is the same as normal cribbage and you have to get to 121 before the cards run out. You never shuffle or re-use the cards played, so there's six hands to get to 121. Tricky, but do-able.

A). Deal two cards to yourself and then one to the crib. Two more to yourself, one to the crib. Two more to yourself and put the rest of the deck down.

B). Choose two cards to discard into the crib, so you have two hands of four.

C). Turn-over the top card on the deck.

D). Play your hand as you would normally but remember without an opponent you can play anything, like lead with a 5. Peg as many as you can with your four cards.

E). Score your hand and crib. Discard the eight cards used, they won't be used again. TIP: Good idea to try to remember which cards you've had.

F). Deal your next hands dealing the previous 'turn-up' as the first of the two cards into your hand.

G.) After six hands there will be four cards left unused. If you got to 121, well done - Success! If not, try using the final four cards to get over the line.
